- A valid credit card (a debit card may be used with prior management approval)
- Two forms of government ID. If renting at an airport location, one (1) must be a passport.
- At least one (1) qualified Authorized Driver minimum 23 years old with a valid driver’s license at least 2 years old.
Hertz Jamaica accepts all major credit cards. Debit card payments require advance management approval. Cash payments are not accepted.

You can easily return your rental by calling any Hertz Jamaica location OR by emailing reservations@hertzja.com. In most instances, your rate will remain the same for any days you add. If you choose not to advise Hertz Jamaica that you are keeping your car longer than agreed, a higher rate will be applied to any additional days. We are also required to report a vehicle stolen if a vehicle is more than 72 hours overdue without notice from the client.
You can return at any Hertz Jamaica location and we have no extra fees for returning at a different location than where you started your rental!
The car must be returned at or before the return time specified on your rental agreement. Late return fees may otherwise apply.
Yes, there is a charge for every hour after the return date and time specified on your rental agreement. Please contact the rental office for further information.
A Collision Damage Waiver limits your liability in the event of an accident. By paying a small daily fee you can limit your liability or in some cases remove liability altogether – your rental agent will be happy to provide you with all the details.
YES – many credit cards now provide fantastic liability coverage for car rental in Jamaica. Limitations may apply so if you think your credit card offers this coverage, please call your card company and request a benefits letter referencing your name and credit card. Simply ask that they send the letter to reservations@hertzja.com and we’ll handle the rest!
No, unfortunately your personal car or home insurance is not readily transferrable to Hertz Jamaica vehicles.
We have worked to dramatically reduce the size of customer deposits, so we’re now able to offer you a variety of options to suit your preference. In some instances you may not have to provide a deposit at all!

Please report any accident or breakdown to a Hertz office as soon as possible. Call or email reservations@hertzja.com if a minor accident has occurred outside of office hours.
